As the air gets cooler and your wardrobe gets warmer, there are plenty of new fall trends to try out this season. For a little va-va voom, try reds and berry colors, which are both classic and sexy. Paired with the same shade aviators, knee highs, a crossbody bag, or a sweater scarf, you’ll look prim and polished in no time.
For those of you keeping up with the latest runway trends, greiges (a mixture of beige and gray) is everywhere this season. The best greiges compliment your skin tone (for fair, try blue undertones and for tan, try red undertones) and go along with the neutral trend: think faded cat eyes, tan socks, a brown bag, and a soft pink scarf. Pastels are big for fall, too, so bring out your girly, romantic side withpale pink or nude polish!

Add a little rockstar to your fall look with shiny metals and shimmery shades like gold, silver, mustard, copper, and emerald. These give a little bit of edge to any outfit, and paired with retro shades, a slouchy sock (with boots), a metallic bag, and an animal print scarf, you’ll give Beyoncé a run for her money.
Royal purple hues are an elegant way to jazz up an outfit a night out, and so are deep purple accessories. Plums—along with other deep jewel tones—are the “it” color for fall, so wear this sultry shade when you’re feeling fun, flirty, and divalicious.
Navy blue is my personal favorite for fall, because it’s got just the right amount of good girl and bad girl mixed together. Celebrities from Fergie to Lauren Conrad are sporting this shade at big events, which goes perfectly with cocktail attire—even that little black dress. For a bolder nail, try a baby blue hue or ocean-inspired turquoise and bring the beach to your fingertips.

• Nail Tips:Whether you are adding these colors to your fingers or toes, make sure you have the proper essentials to make the rest of your hands or feet look just as pretty. It’s best to have a nail polish remover, cotton balls, a nail file, nail clippers, and cuticle lotion on hand for quick touch-ups. For both hands and feet, make sure you remove old color with polish remover and a cotton ball, and cut/file nails to the length of your choice, but never too short. Especially with toes, this could cause painful ingrown toenails. For fingers, the most popular shapes are round or square, and try to stay away from Lady Gaga-esque points. For both your hands and feet, soak and wash them on a regular basis in lukewarm water with mild soaps, and use exfoliant on your feet or a pumice stone to rid your heels of skin buildup. The most important step? Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize, because not only will dry, cracked feet and hands look old and uninviting, they’ll feel painful and bothersome. Once you’re ready to paint those nails, always apply a base coat and then two thin coats of polish. A top coat will keep your polish from chipping and your trendy-looking fingers and toes in tip top shape.
