Both nail extensions are available on the feet but the nails on the toes have to be a certain length before any treatment can be adminstored.
New laws from 2010
The nail extension industry is in a bother about a new law that is going to come into play at some point next year. This new law targeting nail salons and a particular type of nail extension treatments will not allow ANYONE to operate one of these drills without a proper qualification that’s exam is only allowed to be taken by people that already have an NVQ in nail technology. The governing board knows that there are only a handful of people that have an NVQ in nail technology but there is a massive amount of people using these tools.
From next year anyone caught doing anything with nail extensions with drill that doesn’t have a licence is in serious trouble and salons could even get closed. There are salons out there where not one person has this qualification but they are all playing about with nail extensions with these drills. The NVQ take 6 months to a year to complete which is a long time to be out of work and in full time schooling with no pay. Whatever happens it is going to mean allot more people are going to start providing nail extensions in peoples homes, just make sure they don’t bring the drill!
